These clown portraits turned out to be even more wonderful than expected. They were made as part of the scenery for our end of the year show. These children have been drawing and painting for a year and they are completely confident with visual expression.
They were painted on 18x24 heavy drawing paper with poster paint. I drew an informal circle in pencil for proportion and a dot in the middle for location of the nose.
Some simple sketched examples of possible clown faces were posted on the easel. You will notice that although there are elements of the sketches in the finished peices, none of the paintings are alike nor do they look like my examples.
I think they are worthy of a gallery show!
